New Sprinkle Tutu Pictures

I was going to write a longer post but Mad Men starts in just a few minutes...

Wendy from Cantwell Creations rounded up some adorable models for us to re-shoot the Sprinkle tutus.
These little cuties were so much fun!!! Looking at the pictures you would never know just hot hot and humid it was. I loved so many of them and had such a hard time narrowing it down to three for my website. Here are a few:

I'm Back!!!!

I can't believe I let a month go by without posting. Sorry for neglecting my blog for so long...
Hope you have had a great month!!! We have been super busy enjoying summer.
I have so enjoyed seeing the pictures of your little ones in their 4th of July tutus. I stocked up on star garland so I will be ready to do them again next year!!! I also now have Happy Birthday Garland and starts, butterflies and hearts. Garland can be added to any tutu for $5 (contact me for more details).
If you haven't been to my website in the last couple of weeks - check out my new banner. I also added two new designs. The Diva is a The Lemon Drop Girl original and Double The Tutu is a popular design with a The Lemon Drop Girl twist.
Check it out and let me know what you think!!

Giving Back

I hope you are all enjoying your weekend!!!
I have been so busy over the last two weeks. I had two big orders to get out. One is done and shipped and the other will be hand delivered tomorrow when we go to Springfield.
My best friend opened her own dance studio (if you live in Springfield, MO you have to check out the Red Door Dance Company - it is the most amazing dance studio I have ever seen!!!) earlier this year and this Sunday is her first recital!!! We are packing the car and heading out tomorrow morning with 13 tutus and two little girls -I can't wait!!!

So awhile back I decided to take my flower beanies and headbands off my site. I will still do them upon request to go with your tutus but it was taking up too much space to have a lot on hand. I was going to offer them on sale when someone approached me about a friend of a friend who's daughter is fighting brain cancer. All these ideas started rushing to me and the end result is that I decided that for every tutu I sell I will donate a flower beanie to a child fighting cancer. I plan to work with several organizations and hospitals and will rotate between them each month. This will be the first month. I am excited to be able to send June's flower beanies to The Blanket Fairy. Kim Ortega is the founder of this great organization. She works night and day to brighten the day of some very special little boys and girls.

In addition to organizing various fundraisers (Christmas in July is the most recent)she also makes blankets for each child she learns about. She wants to be able to provide a blanket for everyone who contacts her so she is always looking for fabric donations.
I will update you at the end of the month on how many beanies will be going to The Blanket Fairy.
So my space issue still isn't solved - LOL but I am so excited to be able to do this. Thanks to everyone who has or will in the future help me to give back!

4th of July Tutus

We got to spend yesterday morning with the wonderful Jessica Horton, we were lucky to have two other models for our shoot (oh - and a 5th if you count the little frog - LOL).
It was so fun to see four little girls running around in there tutus. They had so much fun (for a little while anyway..) and Jessica worked so quickly. She is SO good!!!! oh and she has the most AMAZING set in her backyard. She rebuilt it from an old building and it was the perfect background for our pictures.
I was planning on being ever so patient while I waited for these - imagine my surprise when I realized Jessica had stayed up super late to get them done - THANK YOU!!!
So here it is - the 4th of July tutu

I hope you LOVE this one as much as I do!!!
It is officially available on my website The Lemon Drop Girl

Great Intentions

I have had great intentions of posting every night this week...
My week started off with Jury Duty. Once I got there (3o min late) I learned that it was probably a good thing that I had to go on a Monday. Thankfully they only had 1 trial so most of us (including me) were sent home after 4 hours.

I have spent the rest of the week taking care of a sick kiddo and trying to keep the other one from getting sick (not so easy when they are 1 1/2 and 2 1/2..).
I was excited to work on some new stuff this week. Hopefully you saw the pictures of cute little Jayden in her birthday tutu last week. Well, I wanted to give her something special for her birthday so I made her this little shirt to match her tutu.

This was my first attempt at making one of these and I am happy with how it turned out. Of course it doesn't hurt to have a model as cute as this one to show it off!!!

Taylor's last day of Mother's Day Out is this Friday. I have been trying to think of something special for her to wear. She has worn MJ just about every time so I had to think of something else (I know - like she really cares). I just made her this shirt tonight - I hope she likes it!!!

I just realized that I took the picture crooked. Hope it doesn't drive you crazy like it does me - LOL!
Now I just need to make one for Gracie. Oh and try to get Taylor healthy so that she can actually go to her last day.

I also got to make two more doll tutus this week. I LOVE doing these. My girls aren't into dolls yet so I love hearing about how excited these girls get to not only get a tutu but a matching one for their doll (custom tutu + doll tutu is $35).

I am still hoping to have some more sprinkle tutu pictures later this week. Wendy sent me some more pictures and I LOVE them. She is just finalizing the editing stuff and then I will have them up!
I can't wait to give one of these away!!! Oh and I promise not to do a guessing game for this giveaway!!!

Sneak Peak!

Wendy sent me a sneak peak from our photo shoot of the sprinkle tutu. I was going to wait until she was done editing before I shared... I have been sitting on these pictures for 3 days now and I just can't wait any longer. here is the sprinkle tutu. Hope you like it!!!

Can you guess what we had to do to get all three little girls to stay in one spot (be specific)??? Leave a comment with your guess and the first person to get it right will win the flower hat that Taylor is wearing

UPDATED WITH PICTURE:
MY MODEL IS ON STRIKE THIS MORNING...

Hope you have a great weekend!!!

Tutus and Pinwheels

Little miss Jayden is a repeat Lemon Drop Girl customer. You may recognize this cutie pie from my online store and Etsy page.
When Jayden's mom asked me to make a tutu for her 1 year pictures I was so excited. She asked for a hot pink and orange tutu with a matching headband. I have fallen in love with this color combination.
I was on pins and needles waiting for the pictures because Jayden's aunt is the amazing Jessica Horton of Jessica Horton Photography.
Well - the pictures are here and they are GORGEOUS!!! Thanks to Jessica and Jami (Jayden's mom) for sharing them with me.
Happy Birthday Miss Jayden!!!!

Sleeping Beauties

Here it is a little before noon and I have two little girls who are passed out in their beds (I have a feeling there is a third little girl passed out in hers too). This morning was a big day for The Lemon Drop Girl. One of my favorite photographers Wendy Cantwell meet us at the park along with my friend Melissa and her daughter Loren. I of course was late as always. I forgot a million things but my trusty friend Melissa was right there with everything I SHOULD HAVE BROUGHT - I don't know what I would have done with out her!!!

Loren and Taylor do great together but little miss Gracie needs her very own handler. She was all over the place but happy as can be. I know people say this all the time but I sware this little girl is 1 1/2 going on 10.

I have something about bubbles in pictures. I LOVE THEM. For our wedding it was the one picture that I said I told the photographer I had to have. He got the shot and it is my favorite.
I wanted a picture of the girls outside surrounded by bubbles.
I have this bubble machine contraption that my husband bought for the girls to use this summer. I left it in the package to protect it from curious little hands until we were ready to use it. Unfortunately the makers of this cute little machine seem to be well aware of said little hands and they had it bolted (literally) to the box - ugh. So the machine stayed in the box. Thankfully my trusty friend also brought bubbles so we were able to get some bubble pictures.

I think we (ahem - Wendy) got some amazing pictures. There are several moments that I can't wait to see. All three girls were wearing my new Sprinkle Tutu - I can't wait to show them off!!!

So now I will wait patiently for Wendy to work her magic.

Hopefully next week I will be unveiling my sprinkle tutu. When I do I will also be giving away a sprinkle tutu so stay tuned!!!

Welcome

Thanks for stopping by and reading the first post of The Lemon Drop Girl. I started to keep a blog last summer but once my tutu business took off I rarely had time to post. I am hoping that having a blog about my life as a stay at home mom and tutu maker will help with that (no promises though).
I am really supposed to be cleaning the kitchen right now but - ahem.... I am taking a break...
Am I the only SAHM who can only really get things done in the evening??? It doesn't help that my little girls are 1 1/2 and 2 1/2. For us this means that throughout the day someone is usually napping or in need of a nap. So this leaves cleaning and tutu making for the evening.
Lately tutu making has taken priority to cleaning (sorry hubby). I LOVE making tutus. I have spent the past few months thinking of what I can do different from everyone else. From that the Sprinkle Tutu was born. I thought that maybe it would be something that only I liked so I shared it with my friends from my shopping board and I am now ready to share it with all of you. I am so excited!!!
Wednesday I am taking the girls to a photo shoot with Wendy Cantwell of Cantwell Creations and I hope to have them to post on here by the first of next week.
Wendy sent me this adorable picture from a recent baby shoot she did with a The Lemon Drop Girl all black tutu. Check out the eyes on this little beauty!!!
